Join Rolls-Royce Defence as a Systems Design Integration Engineer and contribute to the ambitious Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), supporting the development of the next-generation Tempest fighter jet. Based in Bristol with hybrid working arrangements, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team solving complex integration challenges across physical and functional systems.
You will collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements, develop innovative solutions, and shape verification strategies throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities
* Apply systems engineering principles to resolve complex safety, quality, and customer requirements.
* Define and interpret technical requirements, documentation, and verification strategies across the product lifecycle.
* Engineer and integrate complex electro, fluid, thermal, and mechanical systems, considering interactions from component to platform level.
* Develop innovative solutions using new technologies, managing risks in a regulated environment.
* Support validation and verification activities, including justification for release to service.
Candidate Profile
* Engineering background with a degree or equivalent experience; Chartered status is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of design methodologies (e.g., V-model, Model-Based Systems Engineering) and cross-discipline concepts.
* Ability to analyze complex technical challenges, think logically and innovatively, and make balanced decisions.
* Familiarity with product integrity, reliability, and certification frameworks in regulated environments.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
