Job Overview
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is looking to appoint an experienced individual to join the Division B Management team as a Care Group Manager for Specialist Medicine. The role oversees the operational delivery of all services in the care group, ensuring safe care and effective use of resources. It also supports strategic development of services to meet national performance indicators and contract specifications, aligning with the Trust’s values and local delivery planning.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the operational delivery of all services in the care group to ensure safe care and effective use of resources.
* Manage a wide group of internal and external stakeholders, including specialty lead clinicians, matrons, and operational managers.
* Lead transformation projects across the Trust and support the strategic development of services.
* Demonstrate ability to manage projects, policy, finance, and stakeholder engagement, keeping the patient at the centre.
* Analyze complex data to facilitate operational delivery decisions and support KPIs.
* Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and projects from initiation to completion.
* Present complex information to internal and external groups in an understandable way.
* Ensure alignment of services with national and local NHS standards and contract specifications.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
* Degree or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of post‑qualification study or professional development to master’s level or equivalent management experience.
* Relevant experience working in an acute healthcare or equivalent setting in a senior operational delivery/management position.
* Demonstrable knowledge of National and Local NHS standards.
* Evidence of presenting complex information to internal and external groups.
* Evidence of successful management and engagement to deliver complex change.
* Ability to develop and implement policy, guidelines and projects from initiation to completion.
* Ability to analyse and interpret complex data to support KPIs.
* Understanding of a specialist area.
* Knowledge of Patient and Public Involvement Programme.
