Haywood Crushing Demolition Ltd ( HCD ) are looking to fill a new postion within the company due to annual year on year growth and we are looking to employ an experienced/qualified Senior Earthworks/Civils Engineer. The Senior Earthworks Engineer will work with the earthworks contract/ops manager and alongside other contract managers, directors within the business. He/she will also need to manage others, namely freelance/temporary site based project engineers and oversee the works carried out by others to check quantities, setting out, machine control and compliance. The said person will need to be able to work as part of a team and also individually. Whilst predominantly on the earthworks division of the company, the position will also be shared with the demolition division where an engineer is needed for quantifying volumes of demolished materials, breaking up ground slabs, foundations and subterranean drainage / services. As the company senior earthworks engineer, your day to day responsibilities will involve but not be limited to; * Topographic surveys/volumetric surveys. * Producing site/as built drawings and weekly/monthly volumetric reports. * Setting out for earthworks and civils. * Overseeing other site based engineers. * Producing technical drawings, cross sections, building/foundation make ups. * Understanding site specific works specifications to ensure compliance. * Works inspections. * Producing ITP’s (Inspection Test Plans) and checking compliance to ITP’s via external testing houses. * Cut and fill analysis and producing volumetric reports. * Loading, checking and modifying earthworks models onto Trimble and disseminating the models to our equipment nation wide. Person specification; * Experience as a site engineer with knowledge of topographic and volumetric surveying. * Experience of setting out for civils and earthworks. * Experience of working on multiple sites. * Knowledge of AutoCAD and LSS. * Knowledge of Trimble software and GPS surveying and setting out equipment. * Knowledge of Microsoft word/excel. * Highly motivated to produce a professional end product. * Knowledge of Bomag GPS systems/mapping and reports, though training can be provided. * Must have a valid CSCS card and either SSSTS or SMSTS certification. The role will be based at our head office in hereford and there will be national travel needed to sites. Some staying away overnight maybe needed where distance dicates, but this is generally the odd night here and there and hotel/susbistence will be provided. We envisage that the person will work 2-3 days at the office and the rest on sites where needed. Salary will be based on experience / qualifications and is negotiable
