PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £55,300 - £71,650 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This Content Editor Visualisation role will power Radio Scotland’s social media and visualisation strategy, driving growth and amplifying our brand. You’ll bring sharp strategic insight into emerging social trends, turning industry developments into clear guidance for teams across our output. You’ll inspire and energise the team with strong leadership and a supportive, creative environment. Working closely with key stakeholders, you’ll identify new opportunities to expand our reach and deepen audience engagement, ensuring Radio Scotland’s storytelling thrives across every social platform.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
* Provide social media expertise and strategic guidance across the division.
* Align team work with department strategy and the wider BBC agenda, sharing relevant industry developments.
* Communicate a clear team vision and motivate staff.
* Develop, define and embed the division’s social media strategy in line with output
* Influence Radio Scotland’s social media strategy at a pan-BBC level, working closely with senior colleagues across the organisation.
Your Skills And Experience
* Understanding of the importance of the BBC's values in accuracy and impartiality.
* An in-depth knowledge of the radio industry, including audiences, competitors and industry trends.
* Extensive senior-level experience creating compelling, innovative visual content and communicating a clear editorial vision
* Proven experience leading social media for a major brand/broadcaster, delivering successful strategies, engaging content, community management, and measurable audience growth across linear and digital platforms.
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience supporting well-known brands across social platforms, from shaping strategy to creating content, managing communities, and using analytics to guide decisions.
* Proven ability to develop innovative output, be open to new ideas and motivate colleagues to take creative risks, within the parameters of the BBC Guidelines.
* Highly competent self shooting and self editing skills.
* Comfortable delivering social campaigns that run alongside or complement broadcast output.
* The ability to lead projects, campaigns and influence senior stakeholders, helping steer new ideas and long-term direction.
Desired But Not Required
* An extensive knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines and/or compliance policies.
* Ability to establish effective short and long term relationships with a wide range of people, talent, partners and agencies.
* Highly developed planning and organising skills. Ability to manage several areas of work at one time, prioritising, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
* Proven track record in long term and effective leadership, managing and motivating teams, and ensuring staff members receive regular feedback for development. Experience of managing performance.
