Role Overview

As part of the firm's insurance group, the team handles a wide variety of claims against various professionals and businesses. The role largely involves defending liability claims both pre‑ and post‑litigation, and providing coverage advice to insurers, including management liability policies covering D&O and EPL. The team acts for all major Professional Indemnity Insurers and directly for a number of large professional services firms and businesses, from SME to large corporates.


Responsibilities

* Manage a caseload of EPL claims, acting for the vast majority of professional indemnity insurers in the market and their insureds.
* Advise insurers on the policy coverage aspect of claims.
* Deliver high quality and timely output to clients, ensuring high client service levels and alignment with agreed working practices and client service level agreements.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of the team's service, support, processes and procedures.
* Work to develop an environment of constant improvement: enthusiastically share knowledge, help others, and take responsibility for aspects of team development such as intranet pages, training and induction, process improvements, etc.
* Capture and collate required Management Information in accordance with agreed practice for clients.


Qualifications

* Circa 1–3 years of PQE with previous experience managing EPL claims.
* A strong grounding in employment litigation. Insurance experience is desirable but not essential.
* Good understanding of employment law and employment tribunal procedures.
* Good knowledge of legal procedures.
* Able to deliver legal and commercial solutions and establish collaborative working relationships with clients and colleagues to provide an outstanding client experience.
* Able to support the team to manage the client experience, developing trusted relationships and interacting with clients confidently to achieve the best outcome for the client.
* Able to work efficiently and commercially and understand the importance of financial hygiene.
* Demonstrates excellent communication skills (both orally and in writing).
* Good attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
