As a dedicated engineering recruiter, I’m currently supporting a highly respected organisation in the defence and engineering sector that is looking to strengthen its technical team. We’re seeking an experienced Engine Fitter / Mechanical Technician to join their specialist workshop in Coventry.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background, particularly in engine fitting or remanufacturing, who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a structured, quality-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess and strip down mechanical products in line with detailed work instructions.
* Follow all MOD-specific requirements, including component traceability and strip/survey reporting.
* Evaluate components for serviceability and determine suitability for reuse or replacement.
* Accurately record additional Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements and job documentation.
* Rebuild and test products to OE or AESP specifications.
* Report faults and escalate issues to the Workshop Supervisor as needed.
* Maintain high standards of workmanship while working efficiently to meet deadlines.
* Ensure full compliance with company health & safety, quality, and operational procedures.
* Record daily job activities using the internal E10 system.
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience in engine fitting, mechanical assembly, or remanufacturing roles.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail.
* Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel—or a willingness to learn.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to continuously improve.
