As a Manufacturing Engineer - Maintenance, you will be a key driver of best practices within the maintenance team. You will be responsible for implementing robust maintenance processes and safety practices as well as running improvement projects and driving change. You will represent the maintenance department though the companies asset onboarding process to ensure that the department is equipped and trained in relevant requirements, has access to required spares and preventative maintenance schedules are documented. You will support the maintenance planning functions ensuring best practices are followed and using available data to support business decisions. What You Will Do: As Manufacturing Engineer - Maintenance, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:? - Create, maintain and review standard works documentation for preventative maintenance activities and use of machine tools within the department. - Drive safe work systems and documented safe procedures for all planned maintenance tasks as well as the creation of dynamic systems to control unplanned works - Train and ensure that maintenance team are competent to the standard work processes. Coach and mentor trainees and apprentices driving their development into future maintenance engineers - Provide technical assistance and apply knowledge to fault finding on both Mechanical and electrical issues, including sourcing of spare parts and the setting of spare parts stock management. What you can demonstrate: - Project management experience, leading process improvements and capital investments. - Diagnose problems and malfunctions in a wide variety of manufacturing equipment and designs procedures for preventive and reactive measures to help improve efficiency and effectiveness. - Train the team, as well as equipment operators, on how to prolong the life span of manufacturing equipment. - Mentoring and coaching of trainees or apprentices. - Advocates for the proactive, timely, and autonomous maintenance of machinery and equipment. - Demonstrate expertise in implementing planned maintenance processes to meet best practice and regulations. - Lead discussions on the performance of maintenance strategies and programs in improving the effectiveness of machinery. - Provides guidance and advice for resolving prominent planned maintenance implementation challenges. - Experience creating process instructions/standard work and risk assessments. - Experience with COSHH assessments and best practices of use of chemicals such as metal working fluids. - Experience using CAD modelling software packages for layout development and design of bespoke items supporting maintenance needs. What you may have: - Degree or equivalent experience desired, ideally a time served maintenance apprenticeship. - Experience in different forms of maintenance practices such as condition-based maintenance, Root cause correction etc. - IOSH Managing safely - COMPEX/DSEAR qualifications, current or expired - Project management qualification, Green Belt or equivalent - Experience of Contractor management and permitting. - Functional Safety Experience - Recognised functional safety engineer certification or relevant experience Pending the number of applications, the criteria for the position may be enhanced to facilitate shortlisting.
