This is an exciting new senior leadership opportunity within Targeted and Intensive Services to lead the youth offer and child exploitation services across the Council.
The Strategic Lead is a key role, ensuring the effective delivery of services to young people in the East Riding. Responsibilities include:
1. Leadership and Management: Developing and leading a youth offer, managing team managers, practitioners, and outreach workers.
2. Service Delivery: Overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programmes.
3. Compliance and Adaptation: Ensuring service provision complies with legislative requirements and adapts to policy or legal changes.
4. Resource Management: Managing staff, budgets, and external partnerships to deliver high-quality services.
The strategic lead will represent the Council at Boards, build relationships with the voluntary and community sector, and submit financial bids for funding. This role is essential in supporting young people to make positive changes and contribute constructively to society. It is a statutory requirement to develop and deliver the youth offer across East Riding, a Council-wide responsibility.
What We're Looking For:
A degree in social work or youth work with extensive strategic leadership experience.
Knowledge of youth work, national agendas, and child exploitation.
A credible leader with strong influencing skills, capable of operating at a senior level across multi-agency partnerships.
Ability to deliver presentations to large audiences.
Excellent financial and project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering outcomes quickly.
Passion for children and families and a belief in the power of services to transform lives.
We seek an energetic, creative, and experienced leader who demonstrates tenacity and enthusiasm to make a positive impact on children and young people. You will have a well-developed knowledge of Signs of Safety, restorative practice, social pedagogy, and systemic practice. You should have in-depth experience working with children, young people, and their networks, with a commitment to family involvement, relational approaches, and empowerment.
