They are seeking an experienced Deputy Mechanical Engineer to support engineering operations within the Winsford Salt Mine.
About the Role
Working with continuous miners, loaders, and conveyor-based haulage systems, you will be responsible for supporting the Mechanical and Faceline Engineers in maintaining the statutory manning levels required to open the mine in a safe manner, to meet all planned and breakdown requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Continuous improvement of Safety and Health management
Ensure that the statutory requirements under the Mine Managers Scheme of Maintenance are completed within the designated time frame and all results duly filed and recorded
Maintain the statutory manning levels required to open the mine in a safe manner, to meet all planned and breakdown requirements
Provide first line support to out of hours requests for assistance from the mechanical Technicians.
Provide technical support in the absence of the Mechanical Engineer
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications:
Time-served Engineering apprenticeship
Minimum of NVQ level 3 in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or a similar related field
IOSH Working safely or managing safely
Skills and knowledge:
Minimum 5 years' experience working in heavy industry as an Engineering Technician
Detailed Knowledge of the PPM scheme
Working knowledge of the 2014 mining regulations
Excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills
