Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an administrative and clerical assistant to join us on a fixed‑term basis of 12 months to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will manage and organise the maternity Electronic Patient Records (EPR) referral process, book appointments for new pregnancies and coordinate transfer of care with minimal supervision.
Main duties
* Provide comprehensive clerical support to clinical services.
* Receive telephone calls regarding the referral process and assist patients to access and complete the process.
* Contact service users who do not have internet access and complete the referral form with them.
* Ensure patients receive initial pregnancy appointments at the appropriate time and place with the appropriate midwife.
* Input data into computerised systems as required.
* Provide clerical support to the Community Midwifery team as required.
Person specification – Experience
* Demonstrable understanding of general office equipment (computer, fax).
* Knowledge of clerical / admin systems and processes.
* Recent knowledge of Microsoft 365.
* Previous experience within a healthcare setting.
* Clerical experience within a similar organisation.
Person specification – Education and qualifications
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Previous admin experience.
* ECDL or equivalent.
* RSA 1 & 2 or equivalent.
* Customer Care qualification or equivalent.
