Occupational Therapist – NSFT Jobs
We are a small but friendly team consisting of a clinical lead psychologist, one psychotherapist, one senior occupational therapist, an assistant psychologist and two assistant practitioners, and two Senior Mental Health Nurses, providing therapeutic input to prisoners at HMP Norwich.
We work with prisoners who self‑harm, have attempted suicide, experience high levels of anxiety or trauma/PTSD, and who may be supported by an ACCT (self‑harm document). The service focuses on reduction of violence, complex cases in seclusion and the development of trauma‑sensitive approaches, including DBT, CBT and trauma‑sensitive yoga.
Responsibilities
 * Run multidisciplinary groups and deliver interventions under supervision.
 * Carry out joint assessments with multidisciplinary staff.
 * Assist with writing formulations and discharge reports.
 * Contribute to MDT meetings, referral meetings and ongoing discussion of cases.
 * Work 1:1 with prisoners to deliver therapeutic interventions as required.
 * Attend and contribute to regular clinical supervision to support professional development.
 * Collaborate with the NSFT mental health in‑reach team, the IAPT/Wellbeing team and the wider IMJ and secure services to build links with the prison.
 * Deliver training to prison staff on therapeutic interventions and mental health conditions, ensuring understanding of coping strategies.
