Are you a Band 7/8a Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist with experience in checking chemotherapy prescriptions? We have a fantastic locum opportunity in a leading NHS hospital in Lancashire – offering high pay and a chance to contribute to vital oncology and haematology services.

• Job Title: Oncology Pharmacist (Band 7/8a)
• Location: Lancashire (NHS Hospital)
• Duration: Ongoing contract
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM (45-minute break)

• Rate of Pay: £27–£37 per hour (before deductions, depending on experience)

Your Role as an Oncology Pharmacist:
Step into a vital role within an NHS hospital's pharmacy team, supporting oncology and haematology services. You’ll be a key contributor to patient safety and treatment efficacy through the following responsibilities:
• Reviewing, checking, screening chemotherapy prescriptions
• Providing expert clinical input to oncology and haematology teams
• Ensuring the safe and effective delivery of cancer treatments
• Supporting patients in understanding and managing their oncology medications
• Collaborating with MDTs to improve outcomes for cancer patients
• Staying current with oncology protocols and pharmacy best practices
Requirements:
• Current and valid GPhC registration
• Recent hospital experience is essential – applicants must have prior NHS or hospital-based experience
• Experience checking chemotherapy prescriptions is required
• Strong understanding of oncology and haematology treatment pathways
• Excellent clinical communication and decision-making skills
• A commitment to delivering the highest standard of care
Working Hours & Contract Details:
This full-time role is based on-site in Lancashire. The position runs Monday to Friday, from 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM, including a 45-minute break. The contract is ongoing, with strong potential for extension.
