1:1 Teaching Assistant – Bishop Auckland (Primary SEN Support)

Are you a nurturing and patient Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We’re working with a friendly prmary school in Bishop Auckland seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with specific SEN requirements on a long-term basis.
The Role:
You will be working one-to-one with a pupil who requires tailored support to help them engage fully in school life. The child’s needs include:
* Communication and interaction difficulties
* Sensory regulation support
* Social and emotional development challenges
The ideal candidate will be calm, consistent, and creative in their approach — someone who can adapt strategies to meet the child’s individual learning and emotional needs.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, or social communication needs
* A positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for SEN support
* The ability to use clear boundaries and nurturing approaches
* Ideally, experience using visual supports, sensory strategies, or communication aids
* A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, SEND, childcare, or similar) is desirableWhat’s in it for you:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
