Winner Education are working with a secondary SEMH school in Erdington who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This is a long-term role, supporting young people aged 14–19 with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs, providing both classroom support and pastoral care.
What You’ll Do:
Support pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, ASD, and additional learning needs
Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
Assist with practical learning activities and engagement strategies
Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
Supervise pupils during breaks, lunch, and transitions
Work closely with teachers and support staff to follow individual behaviour and learning plans
Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting young people with SEMH and challenging behaviour
Calm, resilient, and confident in managing behaviour
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Flexible and able to adapt to individual pupil needs
Previous experience in a secondary school, PRU, or alternative provision is desirable but not essential
