Cleaning Officer

Location: Based at Wakefield College, but required to work across all College sites (Castleford, Selby and Wakefield)
Salary: £29,267 - £31,050 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
We have a great opportunity for a Cleaning Officer to join our dedicated Cleaning team. As a member of the Estates department, you will manage the cleaning services across all College premises to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for all building users.
As a Cleaning Officer you will have overall responsibility for the implementation of effective cleaning and ensuring appropriate cover of cleaning services for the day to day College operations.
This role will involve -
- Keeping up to date with all relevant health and safety legislation related to safety of staff and methods of cleaning.
- Being responsible for the implementation of cleaning, development and review of College cleaning services.
- Ensuring effective control of the allocated budgets for cleaning services.
- Managing the Cleaning team.
- Reviewing suppliers / contracts at regular intervals to maintain best practice.
- Arranging specific and specialised deep cleaning.
About you –
You should be trained in COSHH or be willing to undertake this training, have knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation and hold GCSE A*-C / 9 - 4 or Level 2 equivalent in English and Maths or be working at this level.
You will have experience of managing cleaning teams and be able to meet service area standards and deadlines, with the ability to work under pressure. Previous experience of working in an education environment would be advantageous.
