We are recruiting four Production Operatives to join a well-established manufacturing business operating a mill in Murton due to continued growth. This is a process-driven, plant-based role working within a close-knit shift team. You will have real autonomy on shift, taking ownership of production runs, monitoring plant performance and ensuring quality standards are met. This is not a repetitive line role. It would suit someone comfortable working with machinery, automation systems and live production environments where attention to detail and accountability matter. Responsibilities of Production Operative Monitor plant machinery and production processes from the operations control room Start and stop production runs in line with the production schedule Adjust batching ratios and oversee mixing and pelleting processes Respond to alarms, faults and process deviations Escalate technical issues to the on-call engineering team where required Manage intake of raw materials, including sampling, testing and accurate documentation Monitor temperature and pressure levels across the plant Carry out routine equipment checks and maintain high housekeeping standards Follow strict health, safety and quality procedures The right candidate for the role will have confidence working with machinery, strong attention to detail, and strong hands on skills. You will join a stable, established manufacturing site offering long-term permanent employment with a competitive salary of £37,000 per year. The shift pattern averages 40 hours per week across rotating 12-hour days and nights, providing structured time off.
