About the Opportunity
Amentum is recruiting for a Senior Engineer - Core Ancillaries, a key role within the Nuclear Equipment team. You will have significant input into team growth, influence team development, and help build a team SQEP capable of delivering required work. The role involves leadership of people across multiple locations, working with national and international suppliers, requiring occasional travel. Key responsibilities include:
* Being technically accountable for developing solutions within the defined scope
* Providing domain knowledge and experience relevant to this role
* Working independently to solve complex technical problems, seeking specialist advice when necessary, and contributing significantly to the team’s delivery objectives
* Leading and supervising a small team of engineers when required
* Defining work scope and ensuring team delivery
* Setting objectives and conducting performance reviews, aligned with overall team goals
* Planning, coordinating, and delivering scope, adhering to schedules and budgets
* Collaborating with the Manager to define team activities and responsibilities
* Managing stakeholder relationships and leading supplier engagements
* Ensuring outputs meet quality and timeliness standards through technical reviews and process adherence
* Demonstrating leadership behaviors and advocating for the team/department
Qualifications and Experience Needed
* Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it, with a relevant technical degree
* Ability to communicate and build relationships across various functions and levels within the business
* Experience with senior leadership within engineering and other business functions
* Capability to support external stakeholder engagements, including customers, regulators, and suppliers, and lead presentations on complex topics
