You will need to be an experienced Buyer with a proven track record of working well under pressure, capable of leading and inspiring your team while executing ambitious seasonal strategies.
This role offers the opportunity to explore your love for product within a creative and collaborative environment.
AS THE BUYER:
* You will have developed Buyers Admin Assistants, Assistant Buyers, or Junior Buyers, nurturing their growth to achieve promotions and key milestones.
* Reviewing workflows and improving efficiencies is essential.
* Range building is critical.
* Onboarding new suppliers and developing supplier strategies.
* Conducting supplier visits and maintaining relationships.
* A multi-product background is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Creating lessons learned presentations for your Head of Department and Directors.
* Communicating key indicators and strategies based on learnings to junior team members.
* Challenging and holding your team accountable for managing their categories.
* Motivating and supporting your team daily.
* Reviewing and establishing clear pricing architectures with merchandisers.
* Planning all buys with your Merchandiser.
* Building well-balanced ranges, identifying gaps, and capitalizing on new opportunities.
* Encouraging team reactions to sales and introducing new products to generate revenue.
* Reviewing colours, prints, and shapes, protecting best sellers, and introducing innovation.
* Experience with trading from the Far East and closer markets (short & long lead times) is essential.
* Maintaining existing supplier relationships and onboarding new ones.
* Sourcing new fabrics and trims, including sustainable options.
* Utilizing test and trial methods to drive product innovation and profitability.
* Achieving strong trading performance at margin and cash sales levels.
* Managing OTB and seasonal budgets with your merchandiser.
* Using historical and current data for commercial decision-making.
* Managing Monday Trade reports and key departmental actions.
* Overseeing critical path and delivery schedules.
* Handling stock issues, delays, and cancellations effectively.
* Preparing for product launches and managing campaign timelines.
* Collaborating with Merchandiser on forecasting and volume planning.
* Conducting cross-costing projects to protect and enhance margins.
* Participating in trend and design meetings with stakeholders.
