This role currently requires availability for weekend support on a rotational basis. In the future, there will be a transition to a formal shift pattern, which may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays. The manufacturing facility houses some of the most advanced machining technology in Europe such as a multi axis NDT robotic machine, automated material cutting machine and mutli axis CNC machining centres. Primarily a ‘hands on role’, the Stores Team Leader will oversee all site activities related to materials management, including stock control (PI counting), stock transfer from Goods In and Production, receiving to stock, kitting, picking / packing and shipping of products via air, road and sea. The Stores Team Leader will assist in training of all warehouse functions for new and existing employees, in order to populate the employee skills matrix. The Stores Team Leader will assist with or carry out investigations, as required, relating to stock and pick and pack discrepancies. The Stores Team Leader will assist in progressing CI initiatives identified. The Stores Team Leader will assist Line Managers with and/or help coordinate, as required, PI counts in line with agreed schedules. The Stores Team Leader will also assist in other tasks including, but not exclusively: • Help identify over-stock parts, bin locations that are too small for current input trend and agree with Line Manager possible alternative bins to suit new volume. • Assist in writing SOP’s, procedures and instructions. Any other reasonable tasks in line with remit. Key Responsibilities: Continuous Improvement; Under the guidance of the wider management team take a ‘hands on’ leading role in implementing agreed CI initiatives. Adopt and demonstrate a CI mindset – support initiatives proposed by team and encourage suggestions. PI Count / Stock Integrity & Management Assist Line Managers carry out PI counts to agreed schedules and more importantly, assist with investigating high value stock differences. Support the Line Manager in identifying ‘Root Causes’ of errors and help implement changes to improve stock integrity. Ensure inventory control processes and initiatives are accurately followed and reported. Transfer FGS Stocks and completed repairs between warehouse locations. Maintain “Live Data” ERP transaction system. Allocate work and monitor output in the absence of the Stores Team members. Oversee the sub-con work process from kitting, serial number allocation where applicable, Ensure staff adhere to training and SOP processes, highlighting any nonconformances. Support training of new recruits in to the department. Use of own initiative and experience to be able to see what needs doing on a flow basis. i.e. overflow management, part re-location, health and safety, house-keeping. Assist in writing SOP’s, procedures and instructions for all tasks required for the department. Escalation of HR issues or simila; manage and administrate overtime and employee life cycle processes through HR systems. Equipment maintenance in line with regulatory requirements where applicable; FLT Service, FLT Training and Certification. Monitor and implement immediate corrective actions for any breach of H&S including, but not exclusively: Use of PPE. Slip and trip hazards. Manual handling practices. Near miss accidents. Housekeeping – Maintain a high level of housekeeping by implementing weekly walking tours and logging outcomes and corrective actions on a visual information notice board (5S).
