Trustee, CHARITY PEOPLE
Location: Hybrid (Peak District/Bakewell HQ and online).
Commitment: Approx. 4 board meetings + 1 strategy day per year. Term: 3 years initially, renewable thereafter. Role is voluntary with reasonable expenses covered.
About the role: As a Trustee, you’ll help shape the Foundation’s next chapter. You’ll guide strategy, champion the mission, and ensure lasting impact for nature and people. You’ll join a passionate, collaborative Board supporting a nimble, high‑performing team.
No prior trustee experience required; enthusiasm, curiosity and a belief in the power of nature are key.
Responsibilities
* Shape strategy and policy for the charity’s mission in the Peak District.
* Champion the organisation’s vision and communicate its impact to stakeholders.
* Attend board meetings, strategy day, and support fundraising and partnership initiatives.
* Contribute to governance, financial oversight, and risk management.
* Represent the charity at public events and to local communities.
Qualifications
* Positive energy, fresh ideas and a diversity of perspectives.
* Experience or interest in fundraising/income generation, business or financial strategy, partnerships with local businesses, or inclusion and belonging.
* A deep love or connection to the Peak District.
* Strategic thinking, warm communication, and ability to bring people together.
