Join Our Client as a Full-Time Temporary Operational Support Officer in Preston! Are you organised, customer-focused, and ready to support the justice system? Our client, a reputable organisation within HMCTS, is hiring for a dedicated Operational Support Officer to join their team in Preston. This is a full-time, temporary role initially for three months, with the possibility of extension, offering a great opportunity to contribute to vital public services.
What you'll be doing
* Handling all administrative tasks to prepare for, facilitate, and conclude hearings
* Providing support and guidance to users and stakeholders via face-to-face, telephone, and written communication, including those with complex needs
* Using HMCTS service scripts and knowledge articles to direct users to relevant services and information
* Supporting complaint procedures, assisting users through the process, and updating systems as needed
* Identifying risks related to HMCTS buildings and informing the Senior Person on Site
* Processing case files with accuracy, ensuring secure data management and compliance
* Managing jury service tasks such as selection, deferrals, and attendance tracking, including expense processing
* Assisting with listing and scheduling to optimise judicial time and respond to urgent matters
* Providing judicial support, including diary management and administrative assistance
* Supporting enforcement activities such as financial assessments and fine collection
* Contributing to health and safety operations, including safety checks and issue logging
What you'll bring
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, with a friendly and professional approach
* Ability to handle sensitive information securely and in compliance with protocols
* Experience in administrative or customer service roles is desirable
* Knowledge of court or legal processes is a plus
* Proficiency in using standard operating procedures and data management systems
Additional details
* Location: Preston
* Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
* Pay rate: £12.86 per hour, increasing to £13.25 after 12 weeks
* Contract: 3 months with potential extension
