Transport Planner Location: Whitwick Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 Hours: 40 per week MQP is looking for a proactive and highly organised Transport Planner to help keep our logistics operations running smoothly. About the Role As a Transport Planner, you will play a central role in coordinating deliveries, supporting customers, and ensuring our resources are used effectively. You'll be the link between internal teams, hauliers, weighbridges, and customers-working to provide a reliable, high-quality service every day. What You'll Be Doing Coordinate internal and external shipping and order processes. Make effective economic use of company resources to meet customer requirements. Negotiate delivery times that work for both customers and the business. Prioritise deliveries when supply challenges arise and liaise closely with weighbridges. Monitor the forward programme to assess and allocate vehicle requirements. Keep customers informed of delivery status and updates. Accurately take and amend orders while maintaining thorough dispatch records. Investigate customer and haulier queries and support issue resolution. Maintain clear communication using internal systems and "desktop text" updates. Build positive working relationships with customers and internal departments. Manage customer complaints appropriately, escalating where necessary. Support Order Centre reporting and maintain a professional standard at all times. Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of production processes and limitations. Product knowledge across asphalt and drystone. IT literate, with experience in Word, Excel and in-house systems such as SAP/Syncrotess. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience Experience in a similar logistics, planning or transport environment is essential.
