Are you ready to take the lead in shaping a safer, smarter, and more sustainable future? We're on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team at Project Armada, based on-site at HMS Drake.
This is your chance to make a real impact—ensuring that Mitie's operations are not only efficient but also meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental care.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Championing a robust safety culture across the site, ensuring compliance with Mitie's Integrated Business Management System and third-party accreditations.
* Leading the charge in risk reduction—protecting people, property, and the planet.
* Supporting the wider QHSE function through incident investigations, audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Building strong, collaborative relationships with both internal teams and clients to drive engagement and excellence.
* Develop and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies.
* Keep the team ahead of the curve with up-to-date knowledge of legislation and best practices.
* Ensure operational managers and staff are trained, competent, and confident in QHSE matters.
* Conduct specialist risk assessments, manage documentation, and support insurance claims.
* Be ready to roll up your sleeves for ad hoc duties that keep the business running smoothly.
What We're Looking For:
* A Certified IOSH member (minimum).
* Proven experience in Facilities Management or a similar industry.
* Strong background in Environmental Management, industrial work, and working at heights.
* Experience managing multi-site, multi-disciplinary operations—especially in Hard Services.
* Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* A self-starter who thrives on independence and initiative.
* A full UK driving licence—a company vehicle is provided for site coverage.
