Job Title: Social Care Worker Salary: £23,188 - £27,324 (pro rata) per annum 30 Hours per Week Location: Parkside, Market Street Bromsgrove Team: Community Learning Disability Team - North Permanent Contract We are looking for an enthusiastic Social Care Worker to join our Learning Disabilities Service! Could that be you? Worcestershire County Council is committed to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities by working with them to build on their strengths and helping them to achieve their goals. The Learning Disability Team (North) are looking for a dynamic Social Care Worker to join our creative and supportive team, and work with us to meet the outcomes of our service users and transform their lives. We are a well-established and experienced learning disabilities team, who all pull together to support each other and share our knowledge and expertise. The team currently has a combination of social workers, experienced social workers, social care workers and are supported by two Advanced Social Work Professionals and an Area Manager. Working with people with a learning disability can be challenging, but also very rewarding. Our Community Learning Disability team provide specialist assessments, interventions, and advice to adults with learning disabilities who may also have other associated health conditions. You will need to be able to travel throughout the North of the county to meet people with learning disabilities in a variety of settings, including their own homes, and have excellent communication skills and the confidence to advocate for the individuals you are working with. Working in partnership with health colleagues’, other statutory partners, and voluntary sector providers, you will have a strengths-based approach to interventions and follow the statutory guidance of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. You will be supported to manage your own caseload, which will include the development and regular review of appropriate support plans and identifying safeguarding concerns. You will receive formal supervision every 4 weeks, have regular peer supervision, and take part in reflective practice sessions around a variety of subjects. In addition, you will be provided with appropriate IT equipment to ensure that you can work flexibly from a variety of settings, including work from home.
