We are looking for a Teacher of English & Literacy Coordinator at Stoke Damerel Community College and Scott Medial and Healthcare College Campus.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the campus and further contribute to the life chances of young people in the school and across the Trust.
The successful applicant will need to have the knowledge, skills and creativity to be an inspiring and outstanding teacher. They will work across the College to lead on developing the reading, writing and grammar skills for every student to the very highest standard. This will include responsibility for CPD programmes, data analysis and sustaining whole College policies around literacy standards.
Main duties and responsibilities
• Working strategically with pastoral and inclusion staff to ensure that students are supported to meet national average standards for reading and writing with a focus on year 7.
• To coordinate the identification and monitoring of the literacy interventions provided in Reach, Write Inc, and coordinating the work of the literacy practitioner(s)
• Working within the English department to contribute to raising student achievement and the continued development of the department
• Teach the English curriculum across the ability range to years 7-13
• Teach your specialism to higher GCSE and A Level
