We're supporting a UK-based engineering and technology organisation specialising in the design and delivery of complex control, automation, and industrial systems.
The business operates across a range of regulated industrial sectors, delivering integrated technology solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and operational performance in critical environments.
This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality technical and commercial proposals for complex industrial automation projects. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tailored solutions, contribute to competitive bids, and support the full tender lifecycle.
This role would suit candidates from Applications, Proposals, Control Systems or Automation Engineering backgrounds. The position focuses on technical solution development and bid delivery rather than hands-on programming or project execution. Experience within industrial automation, systems integration, energy, nuclear or other regulated industries would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse customer requirements and develop cost-effective technical solutions
Produce high-quality, compliant tender submissions (technical & commercial)
Create conceptual designs for control systems, PLC/SCADA, industrial networks and system architectures.
Develop accurate commercial estimates including BoMs, supplier quotations and engineering hours.
Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and sales teams
Support pre- and post-tender discussions with internal stakeholders
Participate in tender reviews and risk assessments
Manage multiple bids simultaneously and track progress
Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal processes
Take ownership of the full proposal lifecycle, from interpreting customer requirements through to tender submission and post-bid support.Experience & Knowledge Required:
Background in electrical, control, automation or safety systems engineering
Experience with PLC, SCADA or DCS systems, control panels, servers, networks and system architecture
Familiarity with functional safety (SIL, SIS, ESD, F&G)
Ability to interpret technical specifications and identify scope, risk and compliance requirements
Experience developing estimates, BoMs and engineering hours for industrial automation projects
Exposure to Siemens or Rockwell platforms and industrial cyber security principles would be advantageous
Degree/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering disciplineBenefits:
