Overview
Ambulatory Care is a same‑day emergency care unit caring for patients within Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital from 7:30 until 22:00, seven days per week. Specialities include surgery, orthopaedics, medicine, stroke and neurology. Patients attend for planned appointments or are referred by GP, Emergency Department, Specialist Nurses or NEAS.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a dynamic nursing team delivering all aspects of patient care.
* Assist qualified nursing staff in providing high‑quality direct and indirect patient care.
* Offer assistance and support to patients, carers and the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Maintain high clinical standards.
* Help maintain a clean and safe ward environment.
Qualifications and Experience
* NVQ Level 3 in Health/Health & Social Care/Direct Care, or equivalent experience.
* Relevant courses and experience demonstrating transferable skills (e.g., respiratory essentials, phlebotomy, obtaining ECGs).
* Previous care experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
