We're looking for a
Senior Buyer
to join our joint venture with BAM Nuttall based at Hinkley Point C. Location : Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required. Hours : 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available; just let us know when you speak to us. Responsibilities of a Senior Buyer
As a Senior Buyer, you'll work within the commercial team at Hinkley Point C to support site in all procurement activities, including equipment, plant, and materials. This builds on our existing supply chain and maximizes sustainability and value for various work packages on a nuclear licensed site. Your day-to-day will include: Ensuring the procurement function complies with detailed technical and contract requirements. Participating in design meetings, product selection, obtaining quotations, and tender analysis during pre-construction. Developing relationships with the supply chain, negotiating terms and conditions, and assisting accounts with timely invoice payments. Post-contract duties include processing requisitions, updating project trackers, maintaining purchasing databases, and assessing suppliers against KPIs, ensuring adherence to health & safety, sustainability, and carbon reduction policies. Contributing to budget management and market testing of the supply chain for value for money. Supporting the implementation and monitoring of Performance Excellence and Social Value metrics. What are we looking for in the role of Senior Buyer?
This role is ideal if: You have proven experience and a positive track record in 'best in class' supply chain procurement within complex projects, demonstrating significant cost and time savings. You possess a strong understanding of the NEC suite of contracts, including Target Costs and Supply Orders. Experience supporting the delivery of design, construction, and commissioning of nuclear or defense projects is a bonus. You hold an HNC / HND in a construction discipline. You are experienced with ERP systems such as COINS and Microsoft applications. Rewards and Benefits
