Purpose of the position
As Survey Workshop Supervisor you will be responsible for inspection and maintenance of survey and positioning equipment, logistical aspects, and development of the workshop. This role reports directly to the Survey Asset Manager.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the workshop, creating schedules to execute the daily workload in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Ensure workshop team tests, maintains & prepares asset equipment for projects in line with department QA/QC procedure.
* Produce reports, procedures, manuals and other related technical documentation pertaining to the operation and support of in‑house survey equipment.
* Responsible for inventory, availability, inspection, repair, calibration, maintenance & compliance, including all relevant documentation.
* Ensure maintenance standards are being executed within manufacturer recommendations, regulatory requirements and periodic certifications.
* Conduct inspection, repair, calibration, and maintenance of survey equipment.
* Update records of equipment maintenance, service, calibration, failure and repair, and close out fault reports submitted from offshore teams.
* Receive and store asset equipment and ensure it is suitably packed for outward consignment.
* Assist support engineers in equipment availability/selection and provide technical assistance/support.
* Ensure orders received are checked into warehouse and register all new equipment in the department asset tracking system.
* Maintain inventory and stock levels of all equipment and consumables.
* Contribute to survey equipment technical updates & bulletins.
* Maintain necessary tools and equipment required to execute survey equipment maintenance and repair.
* Work according to department QA/QC procedures, standards and specifications and contribute to their improvement.
* Actively participate in research and development of internally designed solutions to meet project requirements.
* Assist warehouse as required on receipt of third‑party hired survey equipment.
Education
College education and/or industry training in survey related electronic engineering.
Experience
Experience in an onshore workshop environment, inspecting, testing and maintaining survey equipment.
Technical Skills
Experience in the installation and interfacing of survey equipment and sensors. Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings (both electronic and mechanical).
IT Skills
Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications).
