We are seeking a talented individual to join our Construction team at Marsh. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Marsh Specialty Construction and Surety Practice is the London market’s largest specialty broker servicing all aspects of the construction, engineering and infrastructure sector.
Our client base includes the world’s leading construction and engineering companies as well as Infrastructure Investment funds who are looking to expand or improve their portfolio of operational assets. Clients are Tier 1 contractors, developers and project owners.
This role is reporting to the practice CEO and working closely with the Head of Specialty Claims. The wider Construction team has 175 colleagues located in 5 UK locations manage every aspect of our clients’ insurance and risk management needs.
We will count on you to:
1. We are looking for a technically focused, experienced claims professional to lead a strong and knowledgeable team of 20 experienced Claims Advocates.
2. Assisting clients, other claims professionals and placing colleagues throughout the organisation.
3. Hands-on proactive claim management, problem solving and designing settlement strategies for clients to achieve the optimal claim solution in the most challenging coverage situations.
4. More broadly the role involves managing and developing Claims Advocates at various levels of experience and in multiple locations.
5. Assisting and supporting Client Executives in retaining existing clients by ensuring delivery of a first class claims service and winning new clients by participating in client pitches and articulating our claims proposition as a market differentiator.
6. Representing the UK Construction Practice on various claims committee across Marsh Specialty
What you need to have:
7. Leadership skills and experience including strategic vision
8. Experience of handling complex and contentious claims in this sector
9. Knowledge of construction insurance including property, engineering, casualty and PI is an important requirement for this role
10. Existing relationship with major market Insurers and knowledge of their products
