UK Space Command is looking for a motivated and passionate individual to join our business support function providing comprehensive and proactive support to our senior leadership team and wider support to our headquarters.
Our mission is to protect and defend the UK and allies� interests in, from and to space, delivering decisive space power, enabling freedom of action, and contributing to global security. As a joint organisation, we appreciate the diverse knowledge our personnel from the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, Civil Service and key members from the commercial sector bring to deliver: space operations; space workforce training and growth; and space capability (developing and delivering space equipment programmes).

Job description
The main purpose of your role is to support the military senior leadership team with administrative support, coordination and preparation for relevant key meetings and events, and diary management. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and can remain calm under pressure with a flexible approach to suit business needs. You will need to have the ability to use a degree of initiative, and the ability to retain information to prioritise daily duties, whilst maintaining a professional and confidential approach at all times.
What will you be doing?
1. Working with the Military Assistants to ensure the smooth running of the outer offices.
2. Making UK and international travel arrangements including booking flights and hotels
3. Preparing visit packs and itineraries to include all relevant information required.
4. Maintaining an electronic diary with all the relevant information included and ensuring awareness of forthcoming diary events.
5. Coordinating attendance of meetings, booking in relevant visitors and meeting rooms, and ensure that all relevant meeting information is distributed to all attendees.
6. General Office duties including filing, processing incoming & outgoing correspondence, dealing with enquiries and ensuring messages are passed on in a timely manner

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
