Role Description
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Allianz Commercial Motor Team as a Commercial Motor Portfolio Manager, reporting to the Head of Motor. The Commercial Motor portfolio is one of the largest lines of business in Allianz UK, making it integral to the continued success of Allianz Commercial. The role involves working with the Portfolio Steering Team to shape the go-forward framework for portfolio monitoring and steering within Allianz Commercial, using the latest tooling, developing improved segmentation and optimising the use of pricing data assets. This role provides the opportunity to continue developing professional and technical skills across Allianz’s Mid-Market and e-traded Commercial Motor portfolios. The role is hybrid from offices in Guildford, London or Southampton.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £80,000 per year. Salary is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
Your role will vary day to day, but here is a bit of what you can expect:
* Supporting the delivery of growth and profitability in line with the portfolio objectives.
* Your responsibilities will include product development, underwriter development, thought leadership, as well as supporting our regional offices.
* Supporting the development of superior technical underwriting and analytical skills.
* Developing and applying appropriate risk management offerings and techniques.
* Maintaining and improving underwriting standards.
* Ensuring that appropriate targets, objectives and development plans support the accounts’ aspirations to grow profitably.
Essential Skills
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong commercial background as well as the following:
* Outstanding Commercial Motor technical underwriting ability
* In-depth knowledge of the Commercial Motor market
* Strong leadership skills
* Proven account management skills
* Strong negotiating/influencing skills
* Engaging and confident communication skills
* Excellent presentation skills
* Excellent numerical and analytical ability
We Are Looking For Somebody With
* Experience of Underwriting Motor Fleet business
* Experience of working within a general insurer environment with responsibility for top and bottom line performance of a portfolio or suite of portfolios
* Supervisory/management/team leadership experience
* Strong track record of delivery against challenging objectives
* Proven ability to understand key underwriting concepts and principles
* Professional qualification such as ACII or equivalent would be preferable
