Title: Site Services Engineer (Energy & Utilities Projects)
Salary: £50,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm
12-Month Fixed Term Contract (with potential to extend)
Location: Huntingdon
This is not a desk-based energy role.
We’re recruiting a Site Services Engineer to support a major energy and utilities improvement programme within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a Site Services Engineer, you’ll be working on-site alongside maintenance and facilities engineers, focusing on improving how key utilities systems perform — including refrigeration, compressed air, and process equipment. This is a hands-on role with real impact, combining day-to-day engineering improvements with project work.
If you’re a Site Services Engineer or Maintenance Engineer who enjoys getting stuck into plant performance, problem solving, and continuous improvement, this is a great opportunity to step into energy-focused work without losing the hands-on element.
The Role – Site Services Engineer
* Support energy and utilities improvement projects across the site
* Work hands-on with systems including:
* Refrigeration
* Compressed air
* Vacuum systems
* Processing equipment
* Identify inefficiencies and implement practical improvements
* Review plant performance, set points, and operating parameters
* Work closely with maintenance engineers, facilities teams, and contractors
* Support installation, optimisation, and validation of improvements
* Spend time both on the shop floor and in the office (approx. 50/50 split)
About You
* Background as a Site Services Engineer, Utilities Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer
* Experience working with plant and utilities systems (compressors, HVAC, refrigeration, etc.)
* Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment
* Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
* Practical mindset with a focus on improving performance and efficiency
* Interested in energy, utilities, or continuous improvement projects
Why Apply?
* Opportunity to step into a Site Services Engineer role with a focus on energy and utilities
* Work on a live site improvement programme with clear targets
* Strong mix of hands-on engineering and project work
* Exposure to key manufacturing utilities and systems
* Work alongside experienced engineers and external contractors
* Potential for longer-term opportunities for the right individual
This Site Services Engineer role would suit someone looking to move beyond reactive maintenance into a more project and improvement-focused position, while remaining close to the plant and day-to-day engineering
