Job Overview
An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join its procurement team. This is a key role responsible for managing purchasing activities across a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely supply of materials and services. The successful candidate will work closely with project, commercial, and operational teams, playing a vital role in supporting successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end procurement activities across multiple projects
* Source, negotiate, and appoint suppliers and subcontractors
* Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
* Lead commercial negotiations to achieve best value
* Prepare and issue enquiries, analyse returns, and place orders
* Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules
* Support project teams with cost control and procurement planning
* Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards
* Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in a Senior Buyer or Procurement role
* Experience working across multiple or varied projects
* Strong commercial and negotiation skills
* Excellent knowledge of procurement processes and supply chains
* Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Confident communicator with attention to detail
* Proficient in relevant procurement or ERP systems
