About the Team
You will lead high-performing iOS and Android engineering teams using Swift and Kotlin to develop and maintain our core mobile apps for Sainsbury's and Argos. These apps are key customer touchpoints, providing seamless experiences for browsing products, managing accounts, and making purchases.
What you'll do
1. Lead and enable the delivery of solutions that create value, drive efficiency, and enhance performance for the business.
2. Line manage and guide a multi-skilled mobile apps engineering team, ensuring they have the resources and skills needed for end-to-end product solutions.
3. Mentor and coach team members, recruit diverse talent, and promote a culture of collaboration, learning, and respect.
4. Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to define product vision and technical direction, manage multiple deliveries, and take ownership of products including change and service management.
5. Drive development of new features, promote best engineering practices, and advocate for agile/lean methodologies.
6. Manage initiative-level budgets, ensure adherence to standards, and foster a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
