Starting as soon as possible, the Governors of this 11-18 Catholic high school and college are looking to appoint a Senior Science Technician to provide the Science Faculty with quality technical and scientific assistance, in order to enhance the quality of educational experiences offered to students in science.
The post is suitable for someone who is experienced in the role of science technician in a school or college setting. As a Senior Science Technician, you will work flexibly as part of a small team across all sciences and be responsible for preparing equipment and laboratories for practical classes, assisting with demonstrations and maintaining all standard laboratory equipment and resources, ensuring the safe storage of chemicals and working to high levels of health & safety.
This is a permanent post and a good opportunity for a highly organised, methodical and enthusiastic individual to lead a team within a large science department offering KS3 Science, GCSE Science (AQA Triple and Trilogy), A Level Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and Level 3 Medical Science.
Our ideal candidate will have a keen interest in science and possess an appropriate science qualification (to A level standard). Candidates should be experienced in the role and ready to lead a small team. It is essential that the appointed candidate has good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team and a flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to meet the changing demands and priorities of the role.
