Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Support Worker to assist vulnerable individuals in securing and maintaining suitable accommodation. The successful candidate will provide essential support, guidance, and practical assistance to promote independence and well-being. Duties
* Assist vulnerable individuals with finding and securing appropriate housing options, including liaising with housing authorities
* Develop and review personalised support plans tailored to each individual's needs and circumstances
* Signup suitable tenants and update all signup documents as applicable
* Provide ongoing support to tenants in managing their tenancy, including budgeting, organisation, and daily living skills
* Offer emotional support and guidance to tenants experiencing difficulties
* Facilitate communication between tenants, service providers, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support
* Support clients where applicable, ensuring safety and well-being
* Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and relevant documentation using the provided IT systems
* Prepare and setup vacant rooms after move-ons
Skills
* Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals or in similar settings is highly desirable
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients
* Ability to develop and implement support plans effectively tailored to individual needs
* Good IT skills for record keeping, reporting, and accessing relevant information systems
* Organised with excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
* Empathetic approach combined with resilience when dealing with challenging situations
* Valid driving licence and access to a car will be preferable
