Job Title: HR Advisor – Cheshire East
Length of Contract: 6 weeks initially
Hourly Rate: £17.85 - £18.85 per hour.
Hours per week: 37 hours but part time can be considered.
Department: People & Organisational Development
Location: Winsford – on site 5 days per week.

Job Purpose
To support the development and delivery of HR policies, processes, and frameworks. The HR Advisor will provide professional advice and support to managers across the business in key HR areas including absence management, performance management, organisational change, recruitment and promotion, and workforce/succession planning.
Principal Responsibilities
* Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and that procedures are applied fairly, consistently, and in line with policy.
* Deliver coaching and training to managers on the application and interpretation of HR policies, promoting best practice across the organisation.
* Contribute to the development and review of HR policies, processes, and frameworks, ensuring a structured and ongoing programme of policy review is maintained.
* Support the implementation of national frameworks and local strategies through effective project delivery, including business cases and annual planning cycles.
* Analyse people data to produce meaningful insights for key stakeholders, identifying trends and demonstrating return on investment and value for money.
* Advise and support managers in managing sickness absence cases, including attendance at case conferences where appropriate, working collaboratively with Occupational Health and senior stakeholders.
* Provide guidance to managers on grievance, disciplinary, and capability processes, ensuring high standards of preparation, documentation, and professional conduct.
* Support organisational change initiatives and Service Improvement Reviews, ensuring HR representation at local meetings and that change is delivered fairly, consistently, and in line with policies and terms and conditions.
* Build strong working relationships with internal departments such as Occupational Health, Legal, and Finance, as well as external partners, other Services, and local networks to share best practice and enhance organisational capability.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are efficient, effective, and make best use of available technology.
* Work collaboratively with Learning and Development colleagues to support the delivery of formal training, ensuring managers understand their responsibilities and any legislative changes.
* Undertake ad hoc project work as required by the Head of People and Organisational Development.
