Are you a passionate and creative leader ready to inspire the next generation of artists and photographers?
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Art and Photography to lead a vibrant and ambitious department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher with a clear vision for arts education and the drive to lead a high-performing team. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as Head of Art and Photography:
1. Lead the strategic development of Art and Photography across all key stages.
2. Line-manage and support departmental staff, including appraisal and CPD.
3. Develop, review and implement a rich and engaging curriculum.
4. Ensure high-quality teaching and learning through lesson observation, feedback, and mentoring.
5. Track student progress and use data to inform planning and intervention.
6. Organise and promote exhibitions, displays, and showcases of student work within school and the wider community.
7. Manage departmental budget and ensure resources are effectively deployed.
8. Promote a culture of creativity, confidence, and risk-taking in the classroom.
9. Lead extracurricular opportunities, trips, and clubs to extend learning beyond the classroom.
10. Contribute to whole-school development as part of the extended leadership team.
Ideal Head of Art and Photography:
* A highly skilled teacher of Art and/or Photography with a track record of strong student outcomes.
