Senior Planning Manager

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well established and forward thinking development business that’s seeking a Senior Planning Manager to join their growing team in Cheshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded planning professional to take on a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of strategic and development projects. You’ll be joining a collaborative and ambitious business where your expertise will directly influence land promotion, development, and delivery activities.
The Role
As a Senior Planning Manager, you’ll play a central role in identifying, managing, and progressing development opportunities through all stages of the planning process. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications.
2. Coordinating multi disciplinary consultant teams to ensure successful outcomes.
3. Liaising with landowners, local authorities, and other stakeholders to progress projects.
4. Promoting sites through the Local Plan process and identifying future growth prospects.
5. Supporting the wider business with planning input on land acquisition and development strategies.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
6. 5+ years’ experience in town planning, land promotion, or a related discipline.
7. Strong understanding of planning policy, development management, and strategic land promotion.
8. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
9. A proactive and commercially aware mindset, with the ability to add value throughout the development cycle.
10. MRTPI qualification (or working towards) preferred.
