Hours: 35 hours per week
Work Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8.45am – 4.45pm and Friday 8.45am – 4.15pm
Community and Enterprise Resources are seeking to appoint a Building Standards Surveyor within our Planning and Regulatory Service Team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
* Processing Building Warrant applications and applications for alternative views of the Building Technical Standards, including the assessment of plans, specifications, and calculations, and the issuance of warrants and completion certificates.
* Assessing and monitoring developments on site to ensure compliance with the Technical Standards, including testing drainage systems.
* Responding to routine, standard, and complex enquiries and Freedom of Information requests from the public, agents, and organisations.
* Inspecting buildings and taking action under Section 27 of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 regarding unauthorised works.
* Inspecting buildings and taking action under Sections 29/30 of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 regarding dangerous buildings.
* Conducting inspections and providing comments/reports related to the Council’s Licensing functions concerning Safety at Sports Grounds, Houses in Multiple Occupancy, etc.
