The Oval Partnership is recruiting a Production Shift Leader for a leading FMCG manufacturer at a site near the Somerset - Dorset border.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful Production Shift Leader will organise and inspire their team to meet daily production and packing plans safely, cost-effective, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all staff meet stringent safety and GMP food standards.
* Team Leadership: Managing performance, attendance, and professional development for factory and warehouse operatives.
* Operational Efficiency: Organising staff rotation, prioritising engineering tasks, and supporting Continuous Improvement (CI) plans to maximise performance.
* Communication: Managing shift handovers, reporting metrics via SAP, and collaborating with the Production Manager to hit balanced scorecard targets.
Production Shift Leader Schedule: Work Half the Year. 4, 5, 5, 4 rotating shift patterns.
Schedule
* Hours: 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00 and 19:00 - 07:00).
* Benefit: By rotating between days and nights on this schedule, you are effectively working just half of the year, allowing for significant time away from the site to recharge and pursue our own hobbies and interests.
About You
* Experience: At least 3 years of people leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing, SAP/ERP processes, GMP / regulated environment.
* Skills: Competency in numeracy and written English, with a track record of working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Location
Situated on the Somerset / Dorset border, commutable from areas such as: Taunton, Honiton, Chard, Crewkerne, Dorchester, Yeovil, Weymouth.
