Housing Project Worker
Loughborough
£24,030 - £24,513 per annum
Here at NCHA, we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive team within Care & Support as a Housing Project Worker.
William Lyon Court (Loughborough, Leicestershire) is a Homeless Service for 13 single people aged 18-25. We support tenants in managing their tenancy and assist with finding independent accommodation.
The project is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm. Please note that there may be occasions when lone working is required.
The Support Workers team informs referral agencies about vacancies and advises on the suitability of potential referrals. You will interview applicants, complete risk and needs assessments, and discuss applications and allocations with the Scheme Manager.
You will assist with the move-in process, ensuring tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities, and relevant procedures. You will help tenants with housing benefit applications, repairs reporting, and other tenancy issues. Maintaining regular contact with tenants, you will ensure they adhere to their tenancy agreements. You will also assist the Scheme Manager in consulting tenants as a group, managing arrears, and arranging repayment plans. Additionally, signposting tenants to support agencies for health, substance misuse, education, employment, and training is part of the role.
You will help maintain a safe, healthy environment for tenants and staff, keep appropriate records, comply with infection control policies, and complete relevant H&S training.
Using your compassionate nature, you will support tenants to feel valued, prevent anti-social behaviour, and ensure health and safety practices are followed.
Record keeping is essential, so you will update tenancy records and support plans using your IT skills. You will also report repairs and handle other tenancy management issues.
With your can-do attitude and persuasion skills, you will encourage tenants to integrate into society and prepare for move-on. This involves liaising with other schemes or landlords to facilitate realistic move-in and move-out options. Your housing knowledge will be invaluable here!
