Due to increased contract growth within our fire alarm service department, we are looking for a Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Technician to join our team.
The Role:
Fire Alarm and Emergency Lightning Technician to cover Burton upon Trent and the surrounding area.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Maintenance experience with
various fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
is essential.
* Previous experience working in
a similar role.
* A
Level 3 EAL
or
FIA qualification
in Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting Systems would be beneficial.
Preferred Location:
* Burton upon Trent or within 20miles approximately to this area.

Position:
Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Technician
Reporting To:
South Service Manager
Role Summary:
The role involves carrying out maintenance, servicing, fault finding, breakdowns, remedials and occasional minor small works activities on Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems. The position requires good technical ability, a high level of attention to detail, and a commitment to compliance with relevant industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain, service, and carry out remedial works on Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems across various customer sites.
* Conduct inspections, testing, diagnostics, and fault finding, producing detailed technical reports.
* Ensure compliance with BS 5839-1:2025, BS 5266-1:2016, and all relevant safety policies.
* Work on other fire related systems such as Air Sampling Systems, Beam Detection, Flame Detection, Disabled Toilet Alarms, Disabled Refuge, Nurse Call to name a few.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work completed.
* Communicate effectively with customers to provide excellent service and resolve issues promptly.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support operational delivery and continuous improvement.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Knowledge and hands-on experience of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
* Strong understanding of industry compliance standards.
* Experience with a variety of addressable and conventional fire systems.
* Maintenance experience with aspirating detection systems.
* Level 3 EAL or FIA qualification in Fire Alarms & Emergency Lighting Systems would be beneficial but not essential as training will be given.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. There may be the odd occasion when an overnight stay is required.

As part of the OHeap Fire and Security team, you will have access to some great benefits, including:
* Competitive Salary (30K-35K basic dependant on experience) with an Incentive Package
* Normal Hours of Employment are 8.00 am – 5.00 pm (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday
* 20 Days Holiday plus Statutory Bank Holidays, with an additional day's holiday for each full year of completed service (up to a maximum of 25 days)
* Travel paid after the first 30 minutes each way) Apart from Callouts, which are paid Door to Door.
