Working Pattern: Permanent Full Time | Flexible First options available The role The Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will lead the central FP&A team and be accountable for the delivery of all consolidated financial plans, forecasts and performance reporting across SSEN Transmission. This high-profile role will ensure finance drives strategic decision-making through robust scenario planning, high-quality analysis and efficient coordination of core financial processes. You'll be instrumental in defining and implementing planning processes that meet the needs of a growing and increasingly complex organisation. As a central finance leader, you'll work closely with Directorate Finance teams, Regulatory Finance, Financial Control and the wider SSE Group Finance team to ensure consistency, clarity and control across all financial planning and reporting activities. You'll be responsible for driving a forward-looking, insight-led culture that ensures the business can make informed and timely decisions. You will Lead the end-to-end annual planning and budgeting process ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory obligations as well as develop and manage a rolling forecast and reforecasting cycle that supports both long-term planning and short-term agility Own the delivery of the monthly management information pack, ensuring accuracy, consistency and insightful commentary on performance, risks and opportunities and support the Finance Director with board-level reporting, ad hoc performance deep dives and investment performance updates. Own key business wide capex and opex forecasts to feed into the 10-year plan, regulatory returns and commercial sensitivities and deliver scenario analysis to support strategic decisions and external engagements (e.g. Ofgem, government, Group Finance). Set and own the timetables, governance and process standards for all planning and reporting activity within Transmission Finance. Lead and develop a central FP&A team of finance professionals, creating a high-performing, collaborative culture and work closely with Business Partnering, Financial Control and Regulatory Finance to align timelines, assumptions and outputs across the function. You have Significant post-qualified experience in FP&A or finance leadership roles, preferably in a complex or capital-intensive environment. Proven track record of owning and improving financial planning, forecasting and reporting processes at scale. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior leadership and Group-level stakeholders. Strong analytical and modelling skills, with the ability to connect financial insight to business strategy.
