Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Occupational Therapist

The closing date is 23 November 2025

Antelope House is an acute mental health unit situated in the centre of Southampton. It accommodates 3 acute wards and a 10 bed male PICU offering high quality, recovery focused care to adults with a range of mental health needs.

We are looking for a passionate and innovative therapist with a keen interest in working in adult mental health to join this supportive and forward-thinking team.

You will be working closely with Hamtun MDT, an OT apprentice and will have the support of the wider OT team.

You will work collaboratively with service users employing a range of OT assessments and interventions to support recovery and will have the opportunity to develop skills in delivering these. You may also work with students on practice placement.

Ideally you will have some experience of working within mental health services and have a keen interest in working with adults who are at the very beginning of their recovery journey. This role would suit someone who is able to work autonomously and as part of a team. With the role being based on a PICU an element of emotional resilience is required.

You will be encouraged and supported in your development through a comprehensive induction, regular supervision from a senior OT, CPD and a structured Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified practitioners.
