GSL Education are currently recruiting a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school based in Barnsley. Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' academic, emotional, and social development across a range of classroom activities. You will work closely with teachers and school staff to create an engaging and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Responsibilities as a TA:
* Supporting pupils with classroom tasks and promoting active engagement in lessons.
* Delivering small group or 1:1 intervention as directed by the class teacher.
* Encouraging positive behaviour and assisting with classroom management.
* Helping to create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment.
* Providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs.
Requirements for a TA:
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational setting is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with children.
* An Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* A CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps in employment.
