The role:
This is a junior level role within a small marketing team, so we’re looking for a Marketing Assistant who can support the Marketing Manager with the delivery of the annua marketing plan. 50% of the role will be social media focussed and whilst the product and business are heavily b2b based, consumer focussed socials across Instagram and Tiktok will still form part of your duties, as will a hefty amount of LinkedIn posts. It is essential though, that you’re not just focussed on reels and videos for socials, the role itself requires a great deal of copywriting so you’ve got to be happy to write, creatively without the use of AI. It’s not this company are anti-Ai, quite the opposite, they’re more than happy to use it refine what you’ve written but there’s lot of terminology used that AI just doesn’t get so you’ve got to be the driver of creativity. You’ll be able to brief the designers as well, so if you’ve got an idea and you’re not quite sure how to make it work, the chances are that they will!
But the role isn’t just social media, it’s also very much allround marketing, so for the remainder of your time you will be be involved with assisting in the development and production of traditional marketing materials, briefing designers on the creation of content for packaging, brochures, leaflets and flyers. You’ll liaise with the large sales team to make sure they have all the marketing support that they need, and you’ll also be involved with event organisation and will control all the trade day merch – keeping control of stock and some other marketing admin duties.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who is happy to be working within a heavily b2b environment, in a fully office based role. You’ll be able to demonstrate some commercial experience within marketing including both b2b and consumer social media experience, and you’ll be able to demonstrate some copywriting experience. You might just be finishing off your degree with at least 6 months of work experience or you could be finishing off an apprenticeship. This is a business where you will learn skills to develop, but they need someone who needs to be happy doing the job rather than someone who is already thinking of the next step.
You’ll be an independent thinker, someone who isn’t afraid to give things a go and who is happy to prove themselves in the role.
You’ll need to be within commuting distance of Burton – public transport isn’t great locally, and would require a 20 minute walk to the place of work so having a driving license would be really useful.
