Our client is a renowned building main contractor covering Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas, they have an excellent reputation for safety, quality and delivery. Our client is keen to identify a Quantity Surveyor for their award winning commercial department. Our client is known for developing people professionally and personally and fully supporting long-term career growth. A working week could be a mix of office and site with one day working from home.
Responsibilities
* Prepare tender and contract documents for sub-contract orders.
* Undertake cost analysis.
* Perform risk, value management and cost control.
* Advise on a procurement strategy.
* Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
* Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.
* Allocate work to subcontractors.
* Provide advice on contractual claims.
* Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
* Value completed work and arrange payments in line with the contract.
* Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
* Keep abreast of statutory and industry changes to ensure operations are compliant.
* Understand the health and safety regulations and implications.
* Undertake accurate CVR reporting.
* Produce procurement schedules.
* Review and agree Main Contract terms and amendments.
Qualifications
* A degree or professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
* Experience as a practising Quantity Surveyor with a track record of successful project completion.
* Broad knowledge of the construction industry, preferably within the restoration and conservation sector.
* Excellent IT and maths skills.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Ability to interact with several different clients and suppliers, communicating clearly both verbally and orally.
* Strong negotiation skills.
