The Client:
A leading global insurance and reinsurance firm are looking for a 10+ PQE* lawyer with an insurance commercial lawyer to lead their commercial legal team. Working autonomously, you will be responsible for a range of legal matters across the business.
As the head of the commercial legal team, you will take ownership of a broad portfolio of legal matters across the business.
This opportunity is well suited to a senior lawyer who enjoys working independently, is confident managing diverse legal matters, and is looking for a leadership position within a global, fast moving insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading a team of lawyers, you will be responsible for the following:
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of insurance specific contracts, including TOBAs, binding authority agreements etc.
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including partnership agreements, supplier agreements, vendor contracts, and customer terms and conditions.
* Assisting with privacy, employment and other matters as they arise
* Provide assistance with maintaining the legal precedent bank; and assist with providing training to the business on new and ongoing legal and compliance issues
* Provide support to the business on the onboarding of new clients
* Managing
* Working in multidisciplinary teams across various departments, including product development, marketing, and human resources, ensuring that all business activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
* The ideal candidate will be a 10+ PQE* Commercial lawyer, preferably with experience in a law firm, or insurance firm.
* Experience in the insurance will be plus but not a strict requirement
* Excellent contract negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
*Candidates outside this PQE range with the prerequisite experience would be considered for this role.
